October 2024
North Preston Lifesaving Club Artists Residency with Joe Pascoe

ZIGZAG LIFE describes a way of moving and ways of being, up, down, back, forth, around and back again. It speaks to the shapes we make with our bodies, the lines we trace with our lives, the patterns, habits, routines and paths we make for ourselves in response to our world. We are constantly zigging and zagging through and across spaces and moments in time.
ZIGZAG WORKSHOPS
all workshops are facilitated by Emma Fayelecaun, creative writing and collage are co-facilitated with Joe Pascoe
Joe Pascoe is a poet and a visual artist working primarily in collage and more recently in film. He was the director of Shepparton Art Gallery from 1988-1997 and has worked in curation and arts management for over 40 years. Joe started losing his sight some years back and developed Stargardts disease; he now lives with a vision impairment that has changed his somewhat straight forward life into more of a zig zag life.
Joe and Emma have been creative collaborators since they met in 2022, using film and poetry, both text based and improvised as a form of co-inquiry
Their films include;
- Seasons
- Railway
- The Adventures Of Jack and Jill
- Coffee Girl
- Op Shop
- Loving Fairfield
These films will be screened as part of ZIGZAG LIFE, along with works in collage, paint and print.
Both Emma and Joe are published poets, collections of their work will be available.
