multi disciplinary
artist & a creative arts therapist – registered professional with ANZACATA, the peak professional body for creative arts therapists in Australia.
Relationality is at the core of my work – positioning relationship as the essence of expression, meaning and transformation.
I facilitate a range of regular creative arts and movement groups and I am a sessional academic at The MIECAT Institute, Fitzroy, Melbourne.
My personal creative practise spans visual arts; including drawing, print, paint, photography & film making. I have a regular dance and creative movement practise, poetry, performance & recording.
My work alongside others in personal 1:1 creative inquiry aims to navigate curiosities and work together through the forming, re-forming of understanding, perspective and meaning.
I am interested in how values, beliefs and connections are created, established and maintained; also what might disrupt, dismantle and change them?
My creative practise is informed by the work I do in therapeutic realms, and the work I do in therapeutic realms is informed by my art making processes.
This work is rooted in motivating equitable, accessible and compassionate futures – working toward mental and emotional wellness, stability and self authorship.
Emma is a mother of two, she lives and works in Naarm (Melbourne) on the lands of the Wurundjeri people, Kulin Country, (Australia).
