Four subjects are filmed as we share the space in silence for ten minutes. Our eyes do not meet, I am present, we do not speak, I sit beside them and observe a sense of the moment. They are invited to do the same, their eyes connecting is with the lens, the single black staring eye.

This video is projected in real time onto a traditional oval shaped portrait board.

These are Live Portraits. At the completion of these works being exhibited as Live Portraits the moving lines were traced, slowly followed in their subtle shifts to create a lasting image. A memory traced onto board with ink.
