Egg

Saturday November 23rd sees the second day of the Village Festival, Edinburgh Gardens Fitzroy, opening act EGG are on at 1pm in the Secret Society Tent and are worth getting there early for.

EGG are a experimental performance duo that work within the confines of a carefully curated installation type space that presents as part witches lair and part museum. This small theatrical set is interactive and audience members are invited to creatively interact within the space. The pair who are referred to as SHE EGG and HE EGG underpin their performance with their own brand of quirk, playing sweet little songs and performing poetry of motherhood, magic and the mundane.

While they appear to be existing in another world or another time EGG penetrate the membrane of the performer/audience barrier, She Egg gestures gently occasionally suggesting audience interaction and playing with varying levels of responsiveness. Using improvisation, storytelling, poetry, music and movement to create their abstract narratives EGG are ultimately a performance art duo who open up and share their curious worlds with us in a way that is simultaneously transparent yet mysterious.

You come away asking your friend “what just happened?” , or questioning if indeed anything happened at all (perhaps you imagined it all).

EGG leave you curious of the connections between the known and the unknown, creating the feeling that you have somehow been part of something wildly creative, slightly weird and definitely wonderful.
